Home Burglary in Isla Vista – Camera, Laptops & Jewelry Stolen

November 13, 2021
Santa Barbara Police Department
Case # - 21-13899

We were robbed while we were inside of our house last night. The pattern of burglary in our neighborhood has been ongoing for some time now, and is consistent in the types of items they take (electronics, jewelry, laptops, etc.). The night we were robbed, we found out that a house half a block down the street from ours was also robbed of similar items. Many people have posted to community forums regarding stolen items and burglaries that are characterized by similar outcomes and criminal behaviors, and we are now under the impression that they are the same people committing these thefts. The items stolen include: a rose gold MacBook Air 2020, a silver MacBook Pro, and a silver MacBook Air, as well as a pair of AirPods, a Canon T6i Camera and 35mm Canon lens, and a jewelry box with notable pieces such as a black pearl necklace, a silver Tiffany heart and lock pendant necklace, and a gold Louis Vuitton lock and key on a gold chain. If these things begin to circulate in pawn shops, on Craigslist or similar sites in the greater Santa Barbara area seemingly from one person, it is likely ours.
