Here’s the Story…

Spent a great day at Alcatraz only to come back to a smashed car window and 2 missing laptops – in broad daylight in a public, high traffic area.

These laptops literally have every bit of work, data, and pictures from the last 6 years of my life. They’re irreplaceable – which is why I have multiple drives with striped backups in each laptop. I never planned for them to be STOLEN, though… which was the Achilles heel to my backup plan.

These are US government encrypted laptops. Fencing them is a felony. I don’t care about any of that, i just want them back and I’m happy to post a hefty reward to do it.

Laptop #1: 17″ Dell Precision M6700, grey. A bit of superficial scratches on the case. Small green piece of a post-it note covering the Webcam. Cannot be booted without an encryption password and a government issued SmartCard.

Laptop #2: 15″ Dell Precision M5715. Black textured top /dark grey metal bottom.

Both laptops were in a black Targus backpack case. One strap of the backpack was almost completely ripped off (hanging by a few threads ). Inside the case was a webcam, stereo headset, Logitech laser pointer/presentation device, “PTC” logo cellphone backup charger, smart card reader device, two power supplies, and a picture ID of me. Also, some business cards with my contact information.
