On or around September 30, 2026, a 1994 Dodge Ram Van B250 was taken from a property in Canton, North Carolina under the guise of a legitimate vehicle sale. According to the owner, a woman identifying herself as being from Georgia had been staying at a local campground after claiming her own car had broken down. She expressed interest in purchasing the van from the owner’s husband, and arrangements were made for the sale.
On the day the deal was expected to close, the owner noticed the van was missing from where it had been parked. When contacted, the woman claimed she had taken it to a local mechanic to check a fluid leak, a story initially corroborated by the campground operators. She later promised to return and complete the purchase but never did, prompting the family to file an official police report. The van is a distinctive blue and white model featuring a handmade sleeper build in the rear cargo area, and is believed to still be carrying its Georgia license plate.
