Inherited Jewelry Valued Over $65,000 Reported Stolen in Hollywood, South Carolina
Hollywood, SC – On August 5, 2025, a bag of jewelry valued at more than $65,000 was reported stolen from a residence on the 5400 block of 5th Fairway Drive in Hollywood, South Carolina. The homeowner stated that two cleaning women entered the bedroom despite being asked not to, where the jewelry was last seen. After an extensive search and no recovery, a complaint was filed with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Department under report number 2025-010763.
The victim explained that after asking the owner of the cleaning company to return the items, the owner and two workers appeared unannounced on the porch on August 28, but all three denied involvement. The owner responded by saying, “you are making serious accusations of theft.” The jewelry has not been recovered.
Among the items reported stolen were multiple inherited heirlooms and international purchases from Italy and Greece, including:
- Wedding ring with three diamonds totaling 4 carats
- Solid gold pieces, each valued at over $1,000
- Rings collectively valued at more than $30,000
- One bracelet valued around $10,000
- Other unique gold jewelry inherited from family
The homeowner is seeking recovery of the jewelry, much of which holds significant sentimental value due to its inheritance from a deceased mother and travels abroad. Charges are being pursued against the cleaning company for the missing items.
