Santa Rosa Sting Leaves Shady Mechanics High and Dry (Literally!) Stolen Rides Recovered in Chop Shop

Sonoma County’s finest busted a brazen chop shop operation this past Friday, March 22nd, 2024, leaving a trail of disassembled dreams (and vehicles) in its wake. The California Highway Patrol’s Sonoma County Auto Theft Task Force (SonCATT) swooped down on a suspicious auto repair shop in Santa Rosa, unearthing a graveyard of stolen rides.

If you’re a victim of a vehicle theft, be sure to share your story here at Stolen 911.

The scene was a gearhead’s nightmare. Dozens of vehicles were found in various stages of disrepair, some stripped down to their skeletons, others with identities mysteriously altered. But wait, it gets worse! Seven of these twisted hunks of metal were confirmed stolen, their parts likely destined for the dark underbelly of the used car market.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies joined the raid, and together they apprehended two suspects: Pablo Gonzalez Rojas, 21, and Leonardo Sanchez Roman, 33, both hailing from Santa Rosa. These gearhead gangsters now face a chorus of charges, including vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and the cherry on top – running a full-blown chop shop.

The investigation is still in high gear, and SonCATT is calling on the public to dish any dirt they might have on this twisted operation. If you know something, say something! Hit up the CHP Investigation Tipline at (707) 917-4491 and blow the whistle on these alleged auto assassins.

This bust serves as a stark reminder: the streets of Sonoma County are no place for shady chop shops! SONCATT remains vigilant, keeping our beloved rides safe from these mechanical marauders.
