Last Updated: June 19, 2026

Welcome to Stolen 911 (“Company,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”), a public service website owned and operated by Hinch Investigations (California Private Investigator License #189056). These Terms of Service govern your use of the Stolen 911 website, registry, and related services located at stolen911.com. By accessing, browsing, or submitting information to our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Services

Stolen 911 is a public registry and private intelligence platform designed to crowdsource the recovery of stolen property. We allow victims of property crimes to post public listings containing details of their stolen assets. Additionally, Stolen 911 provides an avenue for the public to submit anonymous tips regarding stolen items.

Not Law Enforcement: Stolen 911 is owned and managed by Marc Hinch of Hinch Investigations, a Licensed Private Investigator (CA PI 189056). However, we are not a law enforcement agency. Submitting a case to Stolen 911 does not replace the need to file an official police report with your local authorities.

2. User Content & Case Submissions

When you submit a case, post a comment, or upload images to Stolen 911 (“Content”), you are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of that information.

  • Truthfulness: You represent and warrant that all information submitted is true, accurate, and relates to an actual crime or legitimate loss of property. Submitting false reports, fraudulent claims, or using the platform to harass others is strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement.
  • Right to Report: You confirm that you are the rightful owner of the stolen property, or you are explicitly authorized by the owner (or an insurance company) to post the listing on their behalf.
  • License to Use: By posting Content, you grant Stolen 911 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your Content across the internet, social media platforms, and to news outlets to aid in the recovery of the property.
  • Right to Remove: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to edit, format, or permanently remove any Content or case listing at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

3. Privacy & Personal Information

Protecting the identity of our users is a core priority. When you submit a stolen property case, your personal contact information (such as your name, email address, and phone number) is never published on the Stolen 911 website. The only information made public is the factual details of the stolen asset.

We securely retain your original contact information internally for the sole purpose of allowing our investigators to reach out to you privately in the event that a tip, lead, or recovery update is generated regarding your case. For full details on how we handle your data, please review our comprehensive Privacy Policy.

4. Tips, Leads, & User Safety

Stolen 911 provides mechanisms for users to submit tips regarding stolen property. We will make reasonable efforts to forward actionable tips to the original poster or appropriate law enforcement agencies.

⚠️ DO NOT CONFRONT SUSPECTS: If you believe you have located stolen property or identified a suspect through our website, do not attempt to recover the property yourself. Contact local law enforcement immediately. Stolen 911 and Hinch Investigations are not responsible for any injury, loss, or legal consequences resulting from users attempting to independently confront individuals or recover property.

5. Private Investigation Services

Submitting a listing to the Stolen 911 registry is a free public service. However, retaining Marc Hinch or Hinch Investigations for active Private Investigation services constitutes a separate, formal legal agreement. The terms, fees, and scope of any active private investigation will be outlined in a separate Retainer Agreement signed by both parties.

6. No Guarantee of Recovery

While Stolen 911 has a successful track record of facilitating recoveries, we do not guarantee the recovery of any stolen property. The inclusion of your asset in our database does not assure that it will be found, returned, or that any suspect will be apprehended.

7. Copyright & DMCA Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied or posted on our site in a way that constitutes infringement, please provide our Copyright Agent with a written notice containing the following:

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
