What We Know

The driver reported the vehicle stalled along San Dimas Avenue, just north of the CA-57 freeway overpass. Concerned about being in a dark area, the driver called a relative for a ride and started walking toward a gas station about four blocks away. Within roughly fifteen minutes of being left unattended, the Impala was gone. The relative, who had turned back toward the car’s location, arrived to find it missing. No broken glass was observed at the scene.

Chevy Impala Background

The 1963 Chevrolet Impala is part of the third generation (1961–1964) of Chevy’s full-size flagship line, celebrated for its clean, elongated body lines, wraparound windshield, and signature triple-taillight design on most trims. Available powertrains ranged from small-block V8s (283 and 327) to the legendary high-performance 409 V8, while the SS (Super Sport) package added bucket seats, console, and trim upgrades. The ’63 model’s blend of style, cruise-ready comfort, and V8 performance made it an icon—particularly in lowrider culture—keeping values strong and theft risk elevated for clean examples and distinctive builds.
