CHP Did What? Custom ’69 Camaro Vanishes After Flat Tire on I-280
Daly City, CA – A classic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, lovingly restored and absolutely packing a punch, goes missing in a bizarre turn of events. Buckle up, because this one involves a flat tire, a disappearing act, and a whole lot of questions.
1969 Camaros: A Blank Canvas for Gearheads
The ’69 Camaro was a muscle car masterpiece, a rolling canvas for enthusiasts to unleash their creativity. This particular emerald green beauty was no exception. Under the hood lurked a tire-shredding 408 stroker motor with a ProCharger strapped on for good measure. A Ridetech suspension kept it planted, and custom everything – brakes, fuel lines, headers, the whole shebang – ensured this Camaro was a true performer. But all that power was useless when a flat tire brought it to a stop on the side of the I-280.
A Frustrating Turn of Events
Our driver pulled over just north of John Daly Blvd., near a BART station. After calling AAA, they watched from a safe distance as CHP officers arrived. With a tow truck seemingly on the way, the owner hopped in a pre-arranged ride and headed home. This is where things get strange. They later received a call from AAA – the car was gone.
Disappeared in Thin Air?
Here’s the head-scratcher: CHP officers confirmed the Camaro wasn’t blocking traffic, issued a measly four-hour parking violation, and left the scene. In that short window, the customized Camaro vanished.
Theories Abound
Investigators are left with a baffling mystery. Did someone steal the car with a flat tire, perhaps lured by the gleam of those expensive rims (rumored to be worth a cool $7,000)? Or was a tow truck involved in a more elaborate heist?
