Classic 1984 Ford Bronco XLT Stolen After Electrical Failure in Pearland, Texas

Pearland, TX – Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance following the theft of a vintage 1984 Ford Bronco XLT (VIN 1FMEU15H0ELA53569), which disappeared under unusual circumstances on the evening of September 18, 2025.

🕒 Timeline of Incident

Earlier that afternoon, the owner had been working on the Bronco at home to address a rough-running issue. Around 7:00 p.m., he took the vehicle out for a short test drive, primarily traveling along Highway 6 to Highway 288 (NB). During the drive, the Bronco suffered a total electrical failure — dashboard lights, headlights, and interior illumination all went out. A nearby police unit noticed the darkened vehicle and signaled for the driver to exit the freeway.

The Bronco was parked along the 2800 block of S Sam Houston Parkway E, near the Jet Stream RV Resort, just east of Pearland. After shutting the vehicle off, a passerby stopped to offer assistance. The driver locked the Bronco and kept the keys, then accepted a ride home from the passerby,

When the owner returned with a trailer approximately an hour later, the Bronco was gone. There were no signs of broken glass or towing tracks, and the truck remains unrecovered.

The theft was reported to the Pearland Police Department under case number 25-008030.
