Stolen 911 Case # 25-0116

Venice, CA – In the early morning hours of Monday, September 15, 2025, a silver 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ was stolen from a driveway in the 2400 block of Penmar Avenue in Venice. The high-performance Corvette vanished just minutes after the owner arrived home with food.
The owner parked at approximately 2:30 a.m. in front of 2464 Penmar Ave, Venice, CA 90291. While inside eating, he suddenly heard the Corvette start up outside. By the time he reached the driveway, the car was already driving away. Broken glass from the driver’s window was found in the driveway, indicating the thieves likely smashed the window to gain entry before fleeing.

Suspicious $7,000 “For Sale” Offer After the Theft
The day after the theft, an image of the stolen Corvette was circulated in a highly suspicious “for sale” offer. The car was being offered for approximately $7,000—far below the value of a 2019 Corvette Z06—through a text message sent to a person who had previously purchased used parts from the victim.
That buyer immediately recognized the Corvette in the photo and contacted the owner. The text included both a phone number and a name attached to the supposed seller. Hinch Investigations of Stolen 911 has preserved that information as part of the ongoing investigation.

Unique Features of This Corvette Z06
This Corvette Z06 2LZ is not a stock car. It has several distinctive modifications and details that should stand out to anyone who sees it in person or in photos:
- No mufflers – the exhaust has been modified, likely making the car noticeably louder than stock.
- Suede upper dashboard in the interior.
- Large gap between the hood and front bumper – an abnormal panel gap that makes the front of the car easy to recognize.
- No “Corvette” lettering on the rear bumper – the typical “CORVETTE” letters are missing from the back.
- Red knobs in the interior, a detail that stands out in photos and in person.
- Haltech intake – aftermarket intake setup under the hood.
- Custom engine tag that reads: “Performance Build Center Bowling Green, KY by RICHARD LAROUE”.
The 2019 Corvette Z06 is the track-focused, supercharged LT4 version of the C7 Corvette line, producing about 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Designed with racing technology borrowed from Corvette’s factory race cars, the Z06 is capable of supercar-level acceleration and handling, making it a highly desirable target for thieves and export operations.
$5,000 Reward Offered for Recovery
A $5,000 reward is being offered through the owner’s insurance company for information that directly leads to the recovery of this 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
Because of this car’s value, unique modifications, and the suspicious attempt to sell it for only $7,000, any online listing, text offer, social media post, or word-of-mouth deal involving a silver 2019 Corvette Z06 with these features should be treated as a red flag.
Since the theft, it’s possible that the Corvette has been wrapped or painted a different color and the VIN has been swapped or altered. Even if the color, wheels, or badges look different, the unique features listed above may still be visible on close inspection.
