I am seeking information regarding an extremely rare stolen 1907 Toledo Symphony Company Dolceola. The instrument was stolen from a touring musician’s truck in Chicago, Illinois, on September 6, 2026. The Dolceola is an unusual, highly distinctive zither-based keyed instrument featuring a light tan top with brown painted edges, custom small feet on the bottom, and serial number “53??” visible inside the sound hole. It was housed inside a brown suitcase custom-stabilized with pieces of styrofoam. Because of its extreme rarity and historic nature, this instrument is easily recognizable among antique instrument dealers, pawn shops, and music collectors. A reward is being offered for information leading to its safe recovery. Anyone with information or sightings is urged to submit a tip immediately.
