The theft occurred between 11:20 AM and 12:30 PM while the operator was dining at the Aeirloom Bakery on Riverside Drive. The 280SL was parked nearby on 4426 Auckland Avenue when it was taken by an unknown suspect.

This classic convertible features a crisp white exterior paired with a distinctive blue convertible top. At the time of theft, it had CA license plate 7ZKS261 and an approximate odometer reading between 36,700 and 36,780 miles.
