STOLEN 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo – RECOVERED
UPDATE 1/21/ 2025: Oakland CHP Officers recovered the Porsche 993 on 1/15/2025. An arrest was made. As soon as we have a name of the subject and more details will update this post. The Porsche 914 stolen at the same time was recovered abandoned at on the 3400 block of 64th Ave Place on 1/14/2025.
Original Post: Oakland, CA – A rare 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo, along with a classic 1974 Porsche 914, was stolen during a burglary at an Oakland warehouse on Thursday night. The thieves, using a white Ford F-150 SuperCrew truck, rammed the roll-up door of the warehouse to gain access to the vehicles.
The stolen Porsche 993 Turbo is a highly sought-after model, known for its distinct features and limited production. This model, part of the Porsche 993 series, is especially notable for being the last of the air-cooled Porsche 911s before the brand switched to water-cooled engines.
The 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo is often coveted by enthusiasts and collectors for its balance of performance and design. The Turbo version of the 993, powered by a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, is known for its powerful acceleration and precise handling.
