Salt Lake City, UT – In a blow to the burgeoning “trailer camper” movement, a custom-built Arsing Cargo trailer, meticulously transformed into a cozy mobile home, was stolen from its street parking spot sometime between late Sunday night (10/15/23) and Tuesday afternoon (10/17/23).

This wasn’t just any trailer; it was a labor of love, boasting unique features like an RV window, a transparent blue roof vent, and “barn” doors adorned with a collection of national park and travel stickers. Inside, the trailer was a testament to DIY ingenuity, featuring a custom wooden bed frame, a 4-inch mattress with a dark green fitted sheet, string lights, a large folding table, and even laminate wood flooring. The interior walls, meticulously covered in custom wood, exuded a rustic charm, while the driver’s side wall showcased a quirky green wallpaper adorned with whimsical birds.

Unfortunately, the thief would have needed a 2-inch ball to tow the silver, 8-foot-long trailer away, suggesting a degree of planning. The theft has left the owner devastated, joining a growing number of victims in the micro-living movement who have fallen prey to thieves targeting these unique and increasingly popular mobile homes.

A stolen vehicle report has been filed with the Salt Lake City Police Department.
